Strangeloop WS1000 Web Services Accelerator Features and Benefits
Configuring Web Services Caching
The WS1000 self-discovers web services and guides the
administrator through configuration recommendations, simplifying management and
maintenance, regardless of the number of web services in the network. The
WS1000 handles each web service individually, with caching controls per service
and per method, and supports full configuration flexibility for further fine
tuning, allowing administrators to rapidly configure and deploy the WS1000
without needing to learn a new coding language.
Caching Web Services
The Strangeloop
WS1000 provides 32 GB memory to meet the requirements of caching large numbers
of web services.
Web Services Performance Monitoring
The Strangeloop WS1000 includes performance monitoring and
statistics that clearly show the impact of web services acceleration.
The Strangeloop WS1000 appliance is configured through the Strangeloop Manager, which runs under the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) on a Windows PC. The WS1000 Appliance is designed for simple, rapid installation and configuration. The Strangeloop Manager provides an easy-to-use GUI that supports setting up the appliance and configuring the web services application treatments. Once installed, you can rapidly configure the WS1000 by specifying WSDL files that the WS1000 can read to learn about the available web services. Deploying the Strangeloop WS1000 Web Services Accelerator
The Strangeloop WS1000 is installed in front of your web services servers. A single WS1000 appliance can service multiple servers providing web services. The WS1000 is designed for non-intrusive, non-disruptive deployment. It accelerates web services without interfering with your web services, your applications, or your network infrastructure and complements any existing acceleration solutions.
To facilitate deployment, the WS1000 includes a pass-through mode that allows traffic to pass unaltered, until treatments are configured and activated. This feature supports staged implementation, allowing the operator to plug the WS1000 into the network and configure and activate treatments individually.
